The \u201cRules of Golf\u201d<\/strong> are comprised of 34 rules and three appendixes.\u00a0 The rules cover the player, etiquette, the game, equipment, the course and types of formats used in competitions and how one should proceed in stroke and match play competitions.\u00a0 The rules are there to protect the field and to help you in certain situations, not always to penalize you.\u00a0 The rules book is about one hundred fifty pages long plus a glossary of terms and indexes.\u00a0 There is another book \u201cThe Decisions on the Rules of Golf\u201d,\u00a0 which is about 3 times as big, covers exact situations and the procedures.\u00a0 The rules of golf book can be purchased directly from the USGA website or can be found in most pro shops and sporting stores.<\/p>\n

Get one for you bag and take the time to look over it.\u00a0 You will find somethings in the book that you did not know and can help you in playing better golf or winning matches.<\/p>\n

I am going to showcase a rule a month, rules that will pertain to day to day golf as well as tournament golf on this page.\u00a0 If you see something on television or encounter a situation in you round, let us know and we will discuss it here.<\/p>\n

Rule 4: \u00a0Clubs<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/h2>\n


\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Rule 4 addresses the clubs, the form and make of clubs, playing characteristics, damaged clubs and the number of clubs allowed during play.<\/p>\n

The number of clubs allowed in the bag is 14, which\u00a0does\u00a0include the putter.\u00a0 You can use any combination of clubs and they do not have to be the same fourteen clubs every time you play.\u00a0 An example is that you may want to add another wedge and take out a long iron if playing a short course or a course with small greens.\u00a0 Conversely you may want to take out a wedge and add a hybrid or fairway wood when \u00a0[…]<\/a><\/p>\n
